DESIGNER SERIES: LET'S TALK STYLE - TRADITIONAL
We’re excited to bring you our new blog Design Series: Let’s Talk Style! This week, we’re talking Traditional, but we’ll go over multiple design styles in the next few months, so stay tuned.
This series will help you better pinpoint and understand your design vision, and it’ll show you how to bring each style to life with cohesion, while teaching you the design terms industry insiders use.
Let’s get started!
A timeless style inspired by 18th and 19th century furniture/decor, the traditional style involves comfortable furniture, warm colors, and a casual demeanor. The perfect place where you want to cozy up in front of a wood burning fireplace.
What Describes Traditional Style
Symmetrical, Ornate Detailing, Curving Lines, Soft, Substantial
Warm Tones, Creams, Beiges, Peaches, Sages, Burgundys, Emeralds
Gilded Finishes, Antiques, Thick Fabrics, Heavy Furniture, Tassels, Fringe, Carved Wood, Floral Imagery/Pattern, Plaid Pattern, Brass and/or Bronze Metal
Word of Warning
This style can feel outdated and overly ornamental. Most clients prefer a fresher lighter version of Traditional.
